What is the difference between power cable and control cable

power cable

The Power cable is a cable product that is used to transmit and distribute high power energy in main lines of the power system, including 1-500KV and above all kinds of voltage levels, all kinds of insulated power cables.

Variety of power cable:

Medium and low voltage cable (usually 35KV and below): PVC insulated cable, polyethylene insulated cable, XLPE insulated cable and so on.

High pressure (generally 110KV and above): polyethylene cable and crosslinked polyethylene insulated cable, etc.

Control cable

The control cable is a PVC insulated and PVC sheath control cable which is suitable for industrial and mining enterprises, energy and transportation departments, for the purpose of controlling AC voltage below 450/750 volts and protecting lines. The control cable has the characteristics of moistureproof, anticorrosion and damage prevention, and can be laid in the tunnel or the cable trench.

Main difference between power cable and control cable

Control cable insulation wire color is generally black and white printing, low voltage power cable is usually color. Generally, the section of the control cable will not exceed 10 square. The electric power cable is mainly the transmission of the electric power, which is generally large section.

The specifications of power cables are usually large, large to 500 square feet, which can be produced by larger manufacturers, and the section of control cables is relatively small, and the section of control cables is generally small, and the maximum is not more than 10 square.

According to the number of cable cores, the power cable according to the power grid requirements is generally 5 core, while the control cable transmission control signal has many cores. According to the standard, there are more than 61 cores, but it can also be produced according to user requirements.
